Vice President
JD Vance had his
Bluesky account suspended on Wednesday, just minutes after making his first post on the platform. The Vice President's account was later restored to the platform.
Shortly after joining the social media site, Vance made a satirical introductory post: “Hello Bluesky, I’ve been told this app has become the place to go for common sense political discussion and analysis. So I’m thrilled to be here to engage with all of you.” The message was an overt jab at the platform’s reputation for censorship ofright-leaning content.
Accompanying his post was a screenshot of the recent Supreme Court
decision that upheld state bans on transgender medical procedures for minors. Vance continued in a thread, writing, “To that end, I found Justice Thomas’s concurrence on medical care for transgender youth quite illuminating. He argues that many of our so-called ‘experts’ have used bad arguments and substandard science to push experimental therapies on our youth.”
