Sen. Markey: ‘Absolutely,’ Facebook Should Be Able to Censor Speech Targeted to Children

(CNS News) -- When asked if Facebook should be able to censor speech on its platform, Senator Ed Markey (D-Mass.) said, “Absolutely, we need laws to protect against speech that is targeted to children and endangers them.”

On Tuesday at the U.S. Capitol, CNS News asked the senator, “Should Facebook be able to restrict speech on its platform?”

Markey responded, “There’s no question that there is no right that anyone has to speak to children in our country in a way in which it endangers children. So, absolutely, we need laws to protect against speech that is targeted to children and endangers them -- there’s absolutely no question about it.”
