War Secretary Pete Hegseth announced Tuesday that the Pentagon is using a new artificial intelligence tool, which was created specifically for the United States military, dubbed "Gemini for Government."
The tool comes as President Donald Trump pushes for a uniform system of AI regulations for the entire U.S., and has urged science agencies such as the Energy Department to embrace artificial intelligence.
Hegseth said the new AI tool is a specialized version of Google's Gemini and is approved to handle controlled unclassified information. The department also said other American-made AI capabilities will be available soon.
