Of the many reactions to Sky News Australia’s suspension from YouTube last week, the most reasonable criticism against the argument put forward by this writer was as follows: YouTube is a private company which has no obligation to allow Sky News Australia on its platforms.
It is a simple yet effective argument. It is both true and, almost ironically, formed from conservative principles that companies should be allowed independence and the freedom to choose partnerships.
