The Christopher Newport University scholar who recently criticized DC Comics’ decision to make Superman a bisexual isn’t taking her critics sitting down, saying she is going to “go on offense.”
Late last month, Sophia Nelson said the new sexual proclivities of the Man of Steel were being “pushed on kids” which parents then would need to explain.
In addition, Nelson said religious Christians might have a problem with the character.
In virtually no time, a petition was created calling for Nelson’s ouster, with students saying they were “outraged,” “sad,” “angry” and “uncomfortable.” CNU President Paul Trible said the school would “help heal, and do the work to promote diversity, equity and inclusion.”
