This fall, Alex Jones' Infowars media platform and its assets will be auctioned off to help pay over $1 billion he owes to the families of victims from the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting. A federal judge is expected to approve the order, per the
Associated Press.
Jones promises to keep doing his talk shows through other platforms, like a new website or his personal social media. He has also hinted that his supporters might buy Infowars' assets, allowing him to keep hosting his show as an employee under the Infowars brand in Austin, Texas.
US Bankruptcy Judge Christopher Lopez in Houston said on Tuesday that he will approve the Infowars auctions starting in November. However, he needs to update a previous order to clarify that the trustee handling Jones' personal bankruptcy case has control over all the assets of Free Speech Systems, the parent company of Infowars, which is fully owned by Jones.
